The Institute is a center for advanced gastroenterology procedures and services that is an integral part of Bristol Hospital and managed by Bristol Gastro Associates, PC.
Dr Zakko pioneered in Connecticut many of the advanced gastrointestinal procedures available today including high resolution esophageal motility, 24 hour pH/impedance to determine if there is non-acid reflux into the esophagus, breath testing for carbohydrate intolerances and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth, and wireless capsule endoscopy to evaluated the small intestine with a camera in a capsule.
